Red Blood Cells Problem: Red Alert

A person suffering from anemia has a hemogoblin deficiency, which is found in the red blood cell. The condition makes it harder for the blood to carry oxygen around the body.

There are three kinds of anemia: hemorrhage or when we lose blood, haemolysis or when there's an excessive destruction of the blood cells in our body, and haemotopoisis, which is when our body can't provide enough red blood cells to go around.

Anemia happens when we lack the proper vitamins and minerals our body needs to properly produce red blood cells. Anemia is not a disease, but a condition where the body lacks something that allows it to produce blood cells properly.

You can get anemia from an illness, genetics, or as a side effect to different medication. You can also get this disease when you have an improper diet. Anemic people are easily tired and breathless and their heart rate is uncommonly fast.

Anemics are often pale and are prone to dizziness, and fainting. Severe anemia can also cause chest pain, headaches, and leg pain. A lack of iron can cause dry throat and mouth, as well as brittling of nails and hair.

Anemia can be caused by a variety of things, like heavy menstruation in women, girls hitting puberty, lack of iron, vitamin B12, or folic acid in the diet, internal bleeding, leukemia, stomach cancer, or hormone disorders like hypothyroidism.

The most common cause of anemia is a problem with the red blood cells. If it's just a lack of iron, B12, and folic acid, supplements and a proper diet can easily remedy it. If it's the other causes, like internal bleeding, cancer, or ulcers, then the patient will probably need surgery or very heavy medication to fight the anemia.
